Day 21: The Throne

Scripture: Hebrews 4:16

Topic: The Throne

There’s something about authority that makes everyone shake in their knees when called by a person in authority. Whether we have done good or bad, the moment we are called in to office our minds begins to play scenes of our past mistakes trying to find reason for the call. We always assume the worst of ourselves.

However with God, though yes we were guilty we are now set free. There’s never a need to tremble in fear or doubts when approaching the throne of God. His authority is not to turnish our image but build us boldly in His image so we can face the challenges of life and continue being efficient in serving Him.

I have been sceptical about approaching God, as a born again Christian. My sin consciousness seemed to rise up in every attempt to be bold when approaching the throne of God. But ever since I started reading this 40 Days Devotional, Life is______ book by Judah Smith I have grown to boldly declare that my Father sits on the The Throne and I have nothing to fear. I have been forgiven. I can approach him with no sin consciousness. No awareness of sin at all. Jesus paid the price for my sin.

(I am on week number 3, yeah I’m slow I know but the idea is to understand His word not fast track the reading plan)

Scripture says:

So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.
Hebrews 4:16 NLT

The call is to come BOLDLY, not to just come but to be BOLD. Our God is always ready, willing and waiting to help us, to share with us His grace and His mercy. We need Grace and Mercy if we are to fight against the enemy of this world and conquer.

My prayers are no longer just prayers or motion of communication. My prayers are a bold declaration of who my Father is, what position He holds in my life, where He is seated. I’m of Royalty and The Throne room is my office I approach it at any time with no fear or doubt. I know whenever I’m called in to office I always leave with all that my heart desires.

How does praying make you feel? Are you bold enough in praying? Do you believe you will get all that you pray for and ask? If not, what stops or prevents you from approaching God in boldness?
